MOJITO RECIPE

This is a classic summer cocktail using white rum. The recipe is courtesy of Bacardi, head to their website for more cocktail ideas.

INGREDIENTS

50ml BACARDÍ CARTA BLANCA RUM
25ml LIME JUICE
12 MINT LEAVES
2 TSP EXTRA FINE SUGAR
25ml SODA WATER
1 SPRIG OF FRESH MINT

METHOD

Step 1

Cut 1 lime into wedges and squeeze theme into the glass.

Step 2

Place lime wedges into the glass with 2 TSP of fine sugar and gently press into the bottom of the glass.

Step 3

Add mint to your liking into the glass and press with a bar spoon to release the oil.

Step 4

Fill half the glass with crushed ice.

Step 4

Add your rum and mix the ingredients together.

Step 5

Top your glass up with soda and crushed ice and garnish with a mint spring.

GLASSWARE

You can use any glassware for your mojito, but the best one to use considering the recipe calls for crushed ice is a tall high ball glass.

MARGARITA RECIPE

INGREDIENTS

Ice
50ml TEQUILA
25ml LIME JUICE
20ml TRIPLE SEC (you can use Cointreau)
SALT
2 LIME WEDGES

METHOD

Step 1

Sprinkle salt over the surface of a small plate or saucer. Rub lime along the rime of the glass and then dip the glass into the sale until the rim is covered.

Step 2

Fill a cocktail shaker or blender with ice, tequila, lime juice and triple sec. Shake or blend until ingredients are combined or the shaker feels cold.
